We are excited to get to work filling our committees and finding new ways to fulfill our mission!  Please read the committee descriptions below and choose as many committees as you would like to work with.  We encourage everyone to choose at least one committee.  If you are already on a committee, please select that committee so we know you plan to continue your work with them.

WORSHIP AND MUSIC COMMITTEE

This committee shall assist the Church Council in seeing that the services of God’s house are conducted regularly and in accordance with the practices of the ELCA, that volunteers who assist with worship are recruited and trained as determined by the committee, and that hymnals and other worship materials are provided and cared for properly.  It shall work with the Director of Worship to support the music ministries of this congregation.   It shall arrange for the care of paraments, vestments and musical instruments. 

TECHNOLOGY SUB-COMMITTEE

There shall be a Technology sub-committee of the Worship and Music Committee who shall be responsible for enhancing the church experience through a variety of technological devices and services. This sub-committee will also maintain our service platforms and devices as well as bring new ideas and opportunities to improve the virtual and in-person services.

(When serving on this sub-committee, you will work with the Worship and Music Committee but are not required to serve on the Worship and Music Committee.)

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION COMMITTEE

This committee shall plan faith formation activities for the church.  It shall choose leaders for those activities and provide for leadership training and development.  It shall encourage active participation in all faith formation activities.  It shall encourage the use of faith formation materials published or approved by the ELCA and make available the church’s periodicals and devotions into the homes of the congregation.  

COMMUNITY OUTREACH COMMITTEE

This committee shall lead the congregation in reaching out to share God’s love with our community. They shall seek to be present within the community, share information about the church with the community, and find ways to support those in need by being a reflection of God’s love in the community. 

GENEROSITY COMMITTEE

This committee shall work to remind the congregation how our offerings make a difference in the life of the congregation and beyond.  They shall plan and co-ordinate fundraising for the church.  This committee cooperates with the members of the Finance Committee in keeping the congregation informed about our financial status and aware of current financial concerns and anticipated major expenses.

GIFTS AND MEMORIALS SUB-COMMITTEE

There shall be a Gifts and Memorials sub-committee of the Generosity Committee whose purpose is to plan for and co-ordinate the use and expenditures of undesignated gifts and memorials, according to the Gifts and Memorials Policy. 

(When serving on this sub-committee, you will work with the Generosity Committee but are not required to serve on the Generosity Committee.)

FINANCE COMMITTEE

The Finance Committee shall assist the Council in the oversight of the financial affairs of the congregation, including preparing the annual budget. They shall arrange for the investments of congregational assets, subject to the approval of the Congregation Council, and provide for the annual audit of all accounts of the congregation and all its organizations.  This committee cooperates with the members of the Generosity Committee in keeping the congregation informed about our financial status and aware of current financial concerns and anticipated major expenses.

PROPERTY COMMITTEE

This committee shall supervise the general repair, cleaning, upkeep and insurance of the church property, as well as planning and making recommendations for improvements.  Inspections of the property shall be conducted as needed but at least once a year to determine maintenance which needs to be performed and improvements which need to be made to all buildings and property.

Social Committee

This committee shall plan and coordinate churchwide social activities for the congregation to foster fellowship   This committee will seek to provide activities for all ages. 

Community Faith Ministry

This committee shall address wellness and wholeness focusing on the mind, body and spirit. It encompasses the Health and Wellness Sub-Committee and the Lay Eucharistic Ministry Sub-Committee. 

HEALTH AND WELLNESS SUB-COMMITTEE

The Health and Wellness Committee is a sub-committee of the Community Faith Ministry.  It is comprised of health educators and lay members of the church, led by the committee chairperson. This committee plans and organizes seminars and workshops on a variety of educational health and wellness topics to the church members and to the community.

LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTRY SUB-COMMITTEE

Lay Eucharistic Ministry Committee is also a sub-committee of the Community Faith Ministry.  The ministry has trained lay ministers who share monthly communion with the homebound who are not physically able to attend the church service.  This may be a temporary, or extended inability.
