The Young EFC online career webinar aims at providing an overview about the diversity of careers within the corrosion community and demystifying some career pathways.
Join us on Thursday, June 27th at 2.00pm (CEST)! We are thrilled to welcome Yolanda Hedberg. She will discuss her path to an academic career in
corrosion science
Yolanda Hedberg did her
engineering degree in materials science at Friedrich Alexander University,
specialized in corrosion and surface science, under the supervision of Prof.
Sanna Virtanen, in Germany. She did her PhD in corrosion science under the
supervision of Prof. Inger Odnevall at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in
Sweden. Interested in medical aspects of corrosion, she did a postdoc in
occupational and environmental toxicology under the supervision of Prof. Carola
Lidén at Karolinska Institute in Sweden. Since 2020, she is Canada Research
Chair in corrosion science at Western University in Canada. She also leads an
international training program in corrosion and will introduce some of its
opportunities.
