We look forward to two wonderful weeks at Croatan High School's Summer Drama Day Camp 2024! Both weeks will have a specific theme, loaded with theatrical fun. Choose one or both weeks to participate!
June 10-14: Week One - Around the World ($125)
July 15-19: Week Two - Finding Nemo Musical Week ($145)
We will learn about theatre worldwide during our first week of camp. Musicals, plays, and movies from many locations will be the backdrop for learning about improvisation, playwriting, acting and singing techniques, and technical theatre (set, lights, sound, costume creation).
Each week is packed with drama lessons, music, arts and crafts, and our favorite activities led by our high school counselors. We will present skits we have worked on throughout the week at 1:30 each Friday afternoon. We invite parents and friends to come and enjoy the fun we've had for the week. Campers are released to go with parents/guardians after the Friday shows.
Musical Week Two is going to be even MORE of a performance opportunity. Finding Nemo will be our musical production this year. Made famous by its pilot on TikTok, this show is sure to be our next big hit! Because we must rent the production and the rights to perform the show from Music Theatre International, our cost goes up significantly. This is such an excellent opportunity for our campers that it is worth the extra effort and expense. We will start the show on Friday at 1:30, just like the first week.
We will begin auditions for the leading roles for Finding Nemo during the first week of camp. Auditions will close on June 13. Although we will review a lot of the show music during the first week, a camper does not have to be enrolled in the first week to audition. If you will be out of town that week, contact me to make an appointment to audition. Campers who wish to audition must prepare a song and lines for their audition. All campers participating in Finding Nemo week do not need to audition. Campers who do not audition will be in the sea chorus, reef kids, sea turtles, and/or sea turtle kids. A cast breakdown list is also included to see all the parts available. All auditions will be videoed to show a panel of judges on June 13 to make the best casting decisions. Judges will look for fully developed characters and actors who aren’t afraid to make big choices and take chances!

You must make checks to CCDB (this stands for Croatan Choral and Drama Boosters). Your space is not secured until we receive your payment. Camp hours are 9-2 each day, Monday-Thursday, concluding after the 1:30 PM Friday performance. Campers are divided into age groups (First Grade – Rising 9th) based on the grade they will enter next fall. Campers must have completed Kindergarten to register.
