IEEE Student Branch University of Melbourne is organizing a talk on Quantum Computing: Fundamentals and Applications. This talk will cover a broad range of topics in the field of quantum computing such as a review of the fundamental quantum mechanical principles that underpin the working of a quantum computer, a range of candidate qubit systems, followed by a summary of the current state of the quantum hardware technologies. The talk will conclude with some of the recent cutting-edge research in the field of quantum computing. This is going to be a 50 min presentation followed by a 10 min Q&A session. Please note that registration using this form is required to attend the event.
