Rilke Schule Volunteer Hours Log
At Rilke Schule, every family is expected to volunteer four hours every month for a total of 36 hours a year. Volunteering fosters parent engagement in the school and provides support for school events. In many cases, we would not be able to hold many of our school events without community support, which is greatly appreciated.

Recording volunteer hours is important as well because the volunteer data is reported to the state and plays a part on the school report card from the Alaska Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEED). Additionally, volunteer data is used when applying for grants that support the school.

Instructions to record your volunteer hours:

- Choose a family name that you will use through out the school year to record all of your volunteer hours.

- Choose your date. If you volunteered multiple days for one event, like Kinderlauf, just choose one day for the event and record all of the hours you volunteered for the event on that date.

- Please record the number of hours using decimal form, for example 2 hours or 2.5 hours. Using the same unit of measurement will help us calculate total hours.

- Record how you volunteered. This could be a school event like Stk. Martinstag, chaperoning on a field trip, helping in a classroom, attending a board meeting, etc.
