2022 Parent Health & Physical Education Feedback Form
Thank you for taking the time to complete this feedback form.  The purpose of this form is to collect parent/guardian information about the District's current Health and Physical Education curriculum before revisions take place during the summer of 2022.  A separate feedback form will be completed by students to collect their information as well.  All submitted feedback is collected by the RIH Curriculum Office.

The District's Physical Education curriculum is a comprehensive four year program that focuses on skills and techniques that foster movement and lifelong fitness among students.  With this in mind, the Physical Education program offers instruction on team and individual sports, fitness activities, and outdoor adventure activities such as the low- and high-ropes courses, hiking, and mountain biking.

The District's Health curriculum meets the students' needs during their four years in high school through the following areas of study:
9th Grade: Personal Growth & Development, Mental & Emotional Health, Family Life, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drug Education, and Nutrition
10th Grade:  Driver's Education
11th Grade:  Family Life, Pregnancy & Parenting, Relationships, Dating & Domestic Violence, and Sexuality & Gender
12th Grade:  CPR/First Aid, Life After High School, Mental Health & Eating Disorder, Healthcare, and Personal Safety

The District's Comprehensive Health and Physical Education program and curriculum will be revised this summer to align with the newly approved New Jersey Student Learning Standards.  The current curriculum can be found on the District's website (https://sites.google.com/rih.org/rihcurriculum/courses-by-subject-area/health-physical-education?authuser=0) and the newly approved NJ Student Learning Standards can be found on the NJDOE website (https://www.nj.gov/education/standards/chp/Docs/2020NJSLS-CHPE_GradeBand_9-12.pdf).
