I would love to have you on this trip (or even a future trip), but I also
want to make sure you are a good fit and this is going to be an adventure you'll enjoy. So please read the trip page in full to understand what type of trip you will be signing up for. This is not a trip that is exclusive for experienced or solo travelers only. If you've not experienced a developing country, do not despair over the questions. This is about having an "adventure-ready mindset". If you can embrace that mindset then this trip may actually accelerate your growth as an adventure traveler, in that you'll be experiencing culture shock with a group, myself and a tour leader. You may find you only want adventurous destinations in the future.
The Best Candidate:
✅ You understand you are in an Asian country and infrastructure is not like home.
✅ You understand that plans sometimes change. You view this as an "adventure" and can rock-and-roll with that
✅ You see cultural differences as a place of enthusiastic learning and exploration.
✅ You are aware this is not a tour bus trip. You will be walking a lot and using public transportation. This can be a lot of time on your feet. (Japan is not always known for free public seating)
✅ You are okay with not having luggage porters and using public transportation
✅ You are comfortable with the occasional squat toilet or pour-to-flush toilet
