The IGDA (also known as the “International Game Developers’ Association”) is the world’s largest nonprofit membership organization serving all individuals who create games.

The IGDA advances the careers and enhances the lives of game developers by connecting members with their peers, promoting professional development, and advocating for the interests of game developers worldwide.

Run by volunteer leaders and supported by the IGDA’s international headquarters, IGDA chapters represent the IGDA and advance its mission locally through regular events, community outreach, education, and advocacy efforts. Chapters also help connect their members to a global community of IGDA chapters, SIGs (Special Interest Groups), and committees around the world.

IGDA Champaign-Urbana is open to everyone in our local community with an interest in game development regardless of age, experience, employment, school enrollment, or IGDA membership status. Whether you’re a professional, student, or hobbyist, you’re invited to participate in our chapter!

ABOUT IGDA MEMBERSHIP
Chapter events and activities are open to everyone in the game developer community regardless of IGDA membership status. 

However, membership is required to participate in certain opportunities such as the IGDA Global Mentorship Program, IGDA Game Showcase, IGDA Career Center, and to access other IGDA-exclusive resources. 

An IGDA membership is also required to participate on the chapter board of directors and to vote for board members in the chapter's annual elections. If you wish to get involved in the chapter as an IGDA member, please select "IGDA Champaign-Urbana" as your primary chapter.

All IGDA events, gatherings, and workshops, online and in-person – are safe spaces where you can express yourself without fear of judgment or harassment.
