ACE Mentor Program of Oregon Mentor Application (2023-24)
About ACE
The ACE Mentor Program is a free after-school program for high school juniors and seniors (and sophomores as space permits). The local ACE Oregon Affiliate runs out of the Portland Metro Area and contributes to the 10,000+ students serviced nationwide.  For ACE OR, an average team is composed of 12-15 students and led by 8-10 volunteer mentors who are professionals from the built industry.

The Oregon affiliate program will run from January 2, 2024 to May 16, 2024.

Teams will be assigned to a TUESDAY or THURSDAY team depending on their availability. The Program Calendar can be viewed on our website. 
  • Teams 1-6 will meet Tuesday from 4:30-6:30 pm
  • Teams 7-12 will meet Thursday from 4:30-6:30 pm

Volunteers are accepted on a rolling basis but encouraged to apply by November 13, 2023, to determine how many students we can support.

Application Process
There are 2 parts to the ACE Mentor Program of Oregon application:
  • Part 1 (Oregon): Complete and submit this application.
  • Part 2 (National): Complete the national online registration on the ACE National Database (linked at the end of the form). This part includes a mentor training and background check that is mandatory.
While completing the ACE National Database registration:  
  • If you are a new mentor, create an account with your personal email (scroll down to find the student button).
  • If you are a returning mentor, log in to your account (contact ace@portlandworkforcealliance.org if you need assistance logging in).

  • Student Advocate (new role): Check in with students from under-represented backgrounds to support retention.
  • Guest Speaker: Attend 1+ session(s) to share on experiences with the design/build industry.
  • Transformative Partner: Participate in a National program to support ACE Alumni after high school.
  • Summer Work Experience (SWE) Host: Work with ACE Oregon and National to host a Student Extern for 80 hours.
