This form is meant to help YOU help US make this visual novel the best it can be.
Feel free to skip questions that aren't applicable to you, and use the open fields to add feedback about facets of the game we didn't anticipate!
First a brief overview of the game:
WHY?
We wanted to try our hand at a form of digital 'edu-tainment' that supported equity-oriented reflexive work.
WHAT?
With that goal in mind, we created a scenario-based visual novel to help folks:
- increase understanding of inherited biases/prejudices in everyday life, and
- 'flex' noticing, naming and responding muscles.
WHO? (Creators and Audience)
Creators: The core team of creatives and programmers behind Cross Roads
are ALL first time game-makers of colour(mostly young women and gender diverse).
Target Audience:
Grades 5-12 "Education got us into this mess, end education will get us out" (Honourable Murray Sinclair)
We hope it will facilitate both independent
reflection (as each player/student navigates the game) and collective discussion (as classes debrief core themes that surface while
playing the game).
WHERE?
The game will be available for free on itch.io (at least for 8 months of beta-testing):
