北藝大文資學院本學期（112-2）第一場Brown Bag論壇即將在3月18日（星期一），中午12時30分至下午1時30分（12:30-13:30），在研究大樓4樓文化資源書苑舉辦。
 
這場論壇的講題為「臺灣家將臉譜藝術之美」，臺灣家將研究者、采風民俗學會 呂江銘執行長主講，國立臺北藝術大學文化資源學院 林承緯院長主持。
 
臉譜彩繪一直是家將文化中重要的藝術表徵之一，其炫麗繽紛的色彩，以及隱藏寓意的圖騰，不僅區分了神將身份表徵，也為臺灣民間增添了另一項宗教藝術，但也因家將臉譜彩繪無法久留在扮將成員臉上，頂多一天即得洗淨，若再要出軍展演又得重新彩繪，如此更突顯出此項無形文化資產珍貴之處。

因為家將團比其它陣頭多了彩繪臉譜的儀程，如果早上出軍護駕展演，通常午夜子時就得開始依序彩繪臉譜，直至天亮才得以竟工，許多盡責的臉譜畫師更常在深夜畫完臉譜後，白天又隨團出軍增補受損臉譜，如此日夜奔勞精神不濟，不幸猝死機率便大幅提高，每次聽到又有臉譜畫師早登仙班就不勝唏噓，也更加珍惜這些臉譜畫師用生命彩繪的家將臉譜影像或面具！

本次論壇，呂江銘執行長除了分門別類講解臺灣特殊的家將臉譜文化之外，亦安排專業畫師來為各位同學施畫圖騰於臉上或手上，讓同學們可藉由親身體驗來暸解施畫觸感，可說是相當難得的精彩論壇。歡迎大家踴躍出席〜

School of Culture Resources of TNUA is organizing the 1st Brown Bag Forum on 3/18 (Mon), 12:30-13:30, on the 4/F, Research Building, TNUA

The topic of the forum is “The Beauty of Taiwanese Jia Jiang Facial Makeup”. The forum is presented by Jiang-Ming Lu (Expert on the Taiwanese Jia Jiang Culture), and moderated by Cheng-Wei Lin (Department Head of TNU of the Arts, TNUA).

Facial Makeup has always been an important artistic representation in Taiwanese Jia Jiang (家將, the home generals) culture. Its splendid colors, as well as the symbolism of the totems, not only distinguish the identities of the deities, but also enrich the culture of Taiwanese religious art. However, as the facial makeup cannot last on the performers' faces for more than a day, they have to be painted again for each performing session, which further highlights the preciousness of this Intangible cultural heritage.

Due to religious reasons, there can be early morning parades or performances of Jia Jiang troupes involving painting facial makeup. In such cases, artists have to start working on the facial makeup around midnight, and they may work until dawn. Many diligent artists even accompany the troupe during the day in order to repair damaged facial makeup. Such long working hours and workload result in exhaustion, and therefore unfortunately, the risk of sudden death is significant. It's heartbreaking to hear about makeup artists passing away prematurely. Knowing the dedication of facial makeup artists, we cherish this Intangible cultural heritage even more.

In this Brown Bag forum,  Speaker Jiang-Ming Lu will lecture on the unique facial makeup culture of Taiwanese Jia Jiang, as well as offer audiences to have their faces or palms painted by professional facial makeup artists. It is such a rare and exciting forum and we look forward to seeing you all!
