We are excited to see your interest in our annual IMPAACT "Identifying Leadership in Asian American in CT" Conference as an attendee.

IMPAACT, the Identifying the Missing Power in Asian Americans in Connecticut Conference, is held each year by the Pan Asian Council at the Asian American Cultural Center to bring students together in the hopes of building community and providing professional development opportunities. This year, our theme is "Finding Your Voice” and finding your community where your voice matters. We are excited to present this year's conference with keynote speaker and performer Ruby Ibarra. We hope you can join us in community at this conference!

As an attendee, you will be expected to:
- attend IMPAACT 2022, November 12th, 10:00AM to 5:00PM
- attend two 45 minute workshops of your choice
- communicate with your family leader or an IMPAACT chair if you have any questions (those not in a PAC family will be assigned to families on the day of)

Uconn4A Panel: A Q&A panel with the Asian American Alumni Association about finding your voice/space within the workplace and navigating the working world being Asian/Asian American.

The Influence of Asian Americans in Popular Culture: This workshop will examine how the mainstream and social media representations of Asian Americans have influenced the larger perceptions of mainstream America. Taking a social/historical approach, I hope to share how these perceptions have shaped the community- socially, culturally, and politically.

No Tea No Shade: In this hands-on, interactive session, we will participate in a gallery walk activity adapted from Change Lab’s “A Different Asian American Timeline” to explore moments of conflict and solidarity within Asian and Pacific Islander American movement history in search of lessons we can apply to address the systemic issues we face today.

Dismantling Perfection: A White Supremacist Construct: Perfection is a construct of white supremacy. Who gets to decide what is "perfect"? What is "ideal"? What is "right"? Nisha and Nishelli will break down perfection, dismantle the white supremacy, and empower Asian and Asian American students to redefine what success really looks like and means (which is personal! Not something for society to decide!)

Maya Mandala: Artist and Professor Geeta Thapa shares her dot mandala art that she learned to do during the pandemic.

Seen & Heard: QTAPI Artists Change the World: In this session, we will engage with film, music, poetry, prose, and performance art produced by Queer and Trans Asian and Pacific Islanders in the U.S. that inspire us to embrace new possibilities for life and love beyond the binary.
