Content/Stimulus:
We want to give each choreographer as much creative freedom as possible, however if you are stuck for ideas or wish to create from a stimulus feel free to use the below statement & ideas from the title of James Wilton’s dance film, 'Adam, Eve, Apple', as a starting point.
'Adam, Eve, Apple' explores our obsession with technology, how it drives us apart and causes us to overlook the world around us.
The work starts in a garden of Eden, with the dancers embracing the natural world, each other and the elements in a duet of expressive and intricate physicality. But, after picking the apple (phone) from the tree, the world deteriorates around them. Adam and Eve remain staring into their phones as they become more insular, withdrawn and isolated from both the wild and each other. Ultimately the film looks to see if the apple will irreparably drive us apart, or if it can bring us back together as well.
Please fill in the application form below with your details, idea for your piece and preference of live performance or record piece to be screened.
