Clay and early literacy programs for 3-5 year olds and their caregivers!
- Workshops are held virtually on Fridays at 1 pm and will last approximately 30-40 minutes.
- Weekly workshop series with rotating book-based themes for children and their caregivers to inspire new ways of exploring books at home and with the library.
- Workshops are free to families and are supported by the William Penn Foundation.
- Partners: Free Library of Philadelphia and The Clay Studio
***Each participating family will need a Clay, Play, Read kit to participate. We are happy to deliver these kits to you at home. Megan Millman Lasiter will reach out to you to schedule this. All workshops will be held via Zoom. Please contact Megan Millman Lasiter at
megan@theclaystudio.org if you have any questions.
Clay, Play, Read at the Cecil B. Library is geared towards families in the 19121 area code and those within the Cecil B. Moore neighborhood, close to the library branch.
Many of our at-home materials have been translated into Spanish and a Spanish speaker from The Clay Studio will be present for each of the workshops. Closed captioning during the workshops will also be available.
