PFLAG is here to support you, so you can support your LGBTQIA+ loved ones.

PFLAG York will promote the health and well-being of all lesbians, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other queer individuals and their parents, family, and friends. We do this through:
• Support: for LGBTQ+ individuals to thrive in an adverse society;
• Education: to enlighten their families and friends to their experiences and needs; and,
• Advocacy: to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights.

PFLAG York provides the opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. We will not give up till society accepts all of its members as equals, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.

PFLAG York has been a part of the York community for over 24 years. We offer peer support that is available at no cost and open to all who wish to participate. All of our groups are led and facilitated by PFLAG York volunteers.

We have mostly met as an in-person support group meeting but switching to virtual as the pandemic shut things down. Now that things are starting to open back up, we are cautiously reengaging in our in-person meetings. We are also hoping to keep connection to those who are uncomfortable and/or unable to attend in-person meetings.

Safety is of our utmost priority for all of our support group meetings. We will discuss privacy, confidentiality, and group agreements at the start of the meeting. Please fill out these questions to the best of your ability. This information is gathered for intake purposes only and will not be shared with anyone.
