Our aim is for EVERY healthcare event to have balanced gender representation.
Too often, we hear that conference organisers 'couldn't find a woman' to speak. Time and time again we see predominantly male speakers on conference panels, plenary sessions and keynotes.
We know this is not for a lack of phenomenal women speakers. We know these women exist, and we want to make sure that they are offered the same opportunities as their male colleagues to speak at healthcare events and conferences.
We are Women Speakers in Healthcare (WSH). We are creating the UK's largest database of women healthcare professionals who have an interest in speaking at these events, so that conference organisers know exactly where to find us.
We are supportive and inclusive of the full range of sexuality and gender identities.
GDPR: By filling in this form, you are adding yourself to our database of women speakers. This database will exist as a spreadsheet that cannot be publicly accessed. Conference organisers can approach the WSH team with specific speaker requirements and we will supply them with a list of suitable potential speakers (we will never share the whole database). We will facilitate contact between a potential speaker and the conference organiser.
If, at any time, you want to remove your details from the database or revoke consent for your details to be passed on, please email
womenspeakershc@gmail.com.
In the near future, we intend to create a website with speaker profiles that can be publicly searched; NOTHING will be uploaded to the website before we contact you for further consent explicitly for this purpose.
Please note the form takes about 15 minutes to complete and does not provide the option to return to it midway. Please ensure you have enough time to submit the form so that you do not lose your work. Some have found it helpful to write their answers on a separate document and copy and paste to avoid losing them in the event of a poor internet connection.
Yours, the WSH Team:
Greta, Katie, Rose, Nada and Lucia
