The New Orleans DSA Direct Service Committee Healthcare Committee and are partnering to host a joint Health Fair and Brake Light Clinic! The event will be held on Saturday, September 16th, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at A.L. Davis Park ( 2600 LaSalle Street). We'll be changing brake lights, doing health screenings, distributing resources, and talking to folks about socialism! There are many ways to help this event be a success both in the lead up and the day of.
On the day of the event, we will need volunteers in two shifts: the first running from 10:30am until 12:30pm, and the second from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. We will also be holding a Brake Light training before the event at 10:30am. Volunteers will help with setup and take down, have welcoming organizing conversations with attendees, change brake lights, talk with our community partners, and do food distribution. We also need volunteers to wave signs to direct attendees to the event and post flyers around the neighborhood.
