The Embodied Carbon Guidelines (ECG) are intended to standardize how embodied carbon calculations are carried out when demonstrating compliance with upcoming embodied carbon requirements in the Vancouver Building By-law (for Part 3 buildings only), and with targets for City-owned buildings to pursue 40% reductions in embodied carbon.'
The Embodied Carbon Design Report.xlsx will be used for submittals to the City. For those using this report at early design, or when using some software, we recognize some data may not be available, so the intention is the report is completed to the extent possible by the user.
For the Embodied Carbon Guidelines, there is space in the form below to provide general feedback on the overall document as well as feedback on specific sections of the guidelines. You can also provide general feedback on the Embodied Carbon Design Report spreadsheet submission template in the last field of this form.
Please provide any comments you may have by filling out this form by EOD January 20th, 2023.
CLF Vancouver will also be hosting a session to facilitate group discussions on these Guidelines on
January 16th, 2023, from 11:00-12:30 pm PST, which we invite you to join. Register
here to join the session.
Also, please feel free to share these with colleagues or anyone you feel may have comments to share. After receiving feedback, both documents will be published as version 1 by the end of January, for use in compliance with the City of Vancouver's Building By-law.
