Beloved People of the Diocese of West Texas,
Over the course of the past few weeks, the process which we began together in calling a Bishop Suffragan has shifted into the public discernment phase for each of our nominees. All of these phases will culminate in an election on Saturday, October 19th at Church of the Good Shepherd in Corpus Christi. The next phase of our diocesan-wide process is to create questions for our nominees which will be used at the discernment forums to be held at St Albans, Harlingen; Trinity, Victoria; and TMI in San Antonio on October 4th, 5th, and 6th respectively. This is where you come in!
We are asking for your help in submitting questions to ask our nominees. The forums will not be an opportunity for questions from the floor, but rather a compilation of the ideas, thoughts, and questions that you send us before these events. The forums will be built upon the ideas and thoughts which you, the diocese, will contribute.
The standing committee, along with the nominating committee, will take the questions which have been submitted and put them together to create our forums - a place which will allow our nominees to articulate their visions for ministry, their hopes, and their strengths; as we discern who is being called to serve as our next Bishop Suffragan.
Many thanks for your contributions and questions.
