Helsinki Decompression 2025 will witness the birth of a new  Burning Heart Lounge - The vibrant Center Stage of the event. Whether you're an artist or group looking to perform, an interactive creator, or someone seeking to experience something new, we invite you to join us!

IS IT A STAGE?

The performance stage of  last year will take an evolutionary leap, and convert into a vibrant and multifaceted carnival-themed venue, serving as both a platform for creative performances and a space for the community to gather, engage, and celebrate art in all its forms. it’s a community living room, a performing arts hub, and an art space all in one. Here, people can relax, connect, enjoy live music, and an eclectic mix of creative expression - not forgetting the coffee and drinks served in the bubble of abandoned refreshments!

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Performing Arts Stage Program - We would love to see performances and interactive programs that engage and inspire the participants. Your program could include, but is not limited to:

  • Performances
  • Live Music
  • Stand-Up Comedy
  • Cabaret
  • Circus Acts
  • Freestyle Acts
  • Magicians
  • Dance
  • Theatre 
  • Or whatever you want to create!
There will also be an Open Stage slot for short performances, so feel free to select it below if you want to be a part of that!

Participatory Program - we also invite interactive program in the rest of the space to help creating experiences that foster engagement, play, and community connection. This could include, but not limited to:
  • Games: Interactive games that encourage social interaction, teamwork, and playful competition.
  • Community Gatherings: Activities or projects that bring people together, sparking connection and collaboration.
  • Rituals & Ceremonies: Opening ceremony, closing ceremony, and/or cultural, spiritual, or meditative performances that invite reflection and participation
  • Scavenger Hunt: Fun and adventurous exploration of the venue, discovering hidden gems and surprises along the way.
  • Pop-Up Surprises: How about an icecream-trolley or a free hug corner? Let your imagination go wild!
Art Space Program - We will offer spaces for different kinds of art projects and art pieces. They can be installed on the walls, ceiling, or in the sides of the room. We will create a floor plan based on the offered art pieces. The more interactive and engaging, the better!

We use this both for organising purposes and for communications.

Everyone coming to the event – those organising the event, performing, creating art, DJing etc. – will need to buy a ticket. There is no exceptions to this rule. The funds from ticket sales will be used to cover space rent, infra costs, art grants etc. The production team of the event is not paid salary. Remind your possible team to get tickets, too. The ticket shop is here!
Any other things that would be good to know?

MANDATORY QUESTIONS FOR ART & PARTICIPATORY PROGRAM
What is your MOOP plan = how are going to clean up after you've done and deal with the possible trash?
Does your activity have combustible materials and how much of it? IS IT FIREPROOFED
All combustible materials MUST be fireproofed - this requires time (applying the fireproofing agent and letting it dry) so please make sure you take care care of this well in advance. Contact X if you need fireproofing agent for your project, as there is some available for general use

What are your technical requirements?
For music performers:  Music genre and BPM
This is a required question for musicians 
For music performers:  Mixtape or video links
We strongly recommend you to provide a Sound/MixCloud, direct MP3 links, Youtube or other video links etc. If you want to send these later via email to artprogramdecompression@gmail.com, please type "I'll send later"
For music performers:  Are you a member of Teosto or other copyright agency or are you playing music that is under the license of such agency?
