HERO is a trauma informed and ACE Aware community where Black youth heal and thrive. Homebased in Philadelphia,PA USA and established in November
2015 by a interdisciplinary
team of professionals including
a licensed social worker, a chef and educator, a banker, a longshoreman, an attorney and nurses to provide social service support to underserved youth pursuing their dreams! HERO is a tax exempt nonprofit charity. HERO ensures youth thrive in education, employment and entrepreneurship while providing scholarships, internships and mentorship.
HERO serves as a Collective Community of Care serving youth age 12-24, Black youth and their families. We are excited to receive your application and meet you in person. Our goal is to connect with dedicated partners and sponsors so that can effectively empower 1000 Philly youth over the next 12 months! We are thrilled to be in alignment with dedicated professionals over the age of 25, who have a passion for wellness, financial literacy, community outreach/organizing and the capacity to serve 10-15 hours per month with the following interpersonal skills: high emotional intelligence, problem solver, team player, communicator, leader, compassionate, flexible, strong work ethic, great time management and commitment to our mission.
