Being entrusted with the privilege and responsibility of working with young children and families is very serious and complex. All persons working or volunteering within the Little Lilu classroom are asked to sign a confidentiality agreement. The intent is to raise awareness and commitment to the importance of privacy. Enrolled children and their families are counting on each of us to be professional, discreet, and responsible with what we see and/or hear during our time in the classroom. The Scappoose Early Learning Center staff will keep families current on issues that affect their child or the classroom.

Information regarding children will not be released with the exception of that required by our regulatory and partnering agencies. All records concerning children at our program are confidential.

Ser confiado con el privilegio y la responsabilidad de trabajar con niños pequeños y familias es muy serio y complejo. A todas las personas que trabajan o se ofrecen como voluntarias en el salón de Little Lilu se les pide que firmen un acuerdo de confidencialidad. La intención es aumentar la conciencia y el compromiso con la importancia de la privacidad. Los niños inscritos y sus familias cuentan con que cada uno de nosotros seamos profesionales, discretos y responsables con lo que vemos y/o escuchamos durante nuestro tiempo en el salón de clases. El personal del Centro de aprendizaje temprano de Scappoose mantendrá a las familias actualizadas sobre los problemas que afectan a sus hijos o al salón de clases.

La información sobre niños no se divulgará con la excepción de lo requerido por nuestras agencias reguladoras y asociadas. Todos los registros relacionados con los niños en nuestro programa son confidenciales.

I agree that all information about the center, staff, children and families, sighted or heard, will be treated as strictly confidential and will not be discussed with any other person outside the classroom. Discussion amongst staff is on a need-to-know basis, i.e. safety.

I agree that, if an incident *needs to be discussed outside the classroom, then this will be done in a professional way keeping details of unrelated children/ families/ staff/ incidents out of the discussion and no personal value judgments will be made during the discussion.

*needs to be discussed covers such things as: (1) seeking information or opinions on a particular child's needs from other professionals e.g. speech therapists, occupational therapists, Child Psychologists, Department Of Children’s Services etc. (2) seeking information from peers (other childcare workers) in order to form policies, procedures or programs.
