Dear Work Crew Applicant,
We're excited that you're interested in serving on the Work Crew for The Great Escape: Midwest 2023! Preparations are underway and people are already praying over this summer; we’re eager to see what God has in store for campers, counselors and the Work Crew.
Each year, we are encouraged by the quality of individuals who apply to serve on the Work Crew.
As Work Crew bosses, our role is to select a group who will serve well together, and that takes
time! As a result, we kindly ask that you submit your completed applications as soon as possible.
This year, applications are due April 14, 2023 - there will be no late applications accepted. Once
you have submitted your application online, please email Emma Gleed (egleed77@gmail.com)
and Drew McMillen (dmcmillen10@gmail.com) to let us know. Once we have received your
application expect an email confirmation from us within a week or two!
Our goal is to have the Work Crew selected by May 19, 2023. At that point, you will receive
another email from us regarding your application status!
A couple logistics to note:
- Dates: July 7-15. We ask that the Work Crew arrive the weekend before camp to build community,
prepare the recreation fields and auditorium, and settle in before camp starts!
- Location: Green Lake Conference Center, Green Lake, WI. Note: Unfortunately we cannot provide transportation to or from Green Lake; however, we can help coordinate carpooling with other Work Crew members!
- Cost: this year, we are requesting that Work Crew pay a fee of $300 to cover the costs of food and lodging. We understand that this price may be prohibitive; if you have any concerns, please contact the Work Crew Bosses and we will figure out an alternative solution! Fundraising ideas: write a proposal to your church leadership board, ask your denomination for camp scholarships, bake sale, rummage sale, etc. Please note that we want you to be here! We will NOT make Work Crew decisions based on your ability to pay food & lodging costs.

eager to see who the Lord has in mind for camp this year!
