1. Never go alone- Partner with one of our six congregational teams to co-labor with them in the work of their community
- Participate in our church planters’ fellowship with other apprentices for mutual encouragement and learning
- Recruit and develop a core group of 50 people and multiply this group for your own church plant in phase two
2. Healthy pastors plant healthy churches- Grow in character, connection and competence through our training in emotional, spiritual, relational and professional maturity
- Receive one-on-one mentoring from current Midtown pastors
- If married, your spouse will participate in specific trainings and receive care
- Regular assessments will track your readiness to plant
We are seeking candidates who exhibit the qualities of humble, hungry and smart:
- Humble–teachable and ready to learn
- Hungry–ambitious to see the kingdom of God grow across the city of Nashville through the growth of his church
- Smart–adept at marrying theological knowledge and cultural relevance
Ministry and development on a congregational level will comprise three-quarters of your time in an average week, while training and mentoring from our Divergent615 staff will comprise approximately one-quarter of your time each week.
Ideal candidates will be ordained or able to be ordained in the Presbyterian Church of America.
Partial funding is provided through Midtown Fellowship and Nashville Presbytery, but apprentices are expected to raise the remainder of their required salary.
