Art as Activism Workshops with ICRES
In collaboration with the Institute for Critical Race and Ethnic Studies (ICRES), this is the first of three interactive workshops which asks participants to draw inspiration from the current exhibition, “Young, Gifted and Black” and create art that responds to themes of identity, social injustice, structural violence, power, resistance, healing, and memory. Each workshop seeks to intentionally build a space where the process of art-making is a form of activism (artivism).

Art created in this workshop series will have an opportunity to be showcased in a final exhibition taking place on May 5th in the Humanities Center.

No prior experience is required. This workshop is for Lehigh students only.

Workshop(s) will be led by LUAG Teaching Artist, Rei Ukon, and ICRES Co-Founder and Artist, Kevelis Matthews-Alvarado.
