This 5-week course will cover the skills and knowledge that will help parents to understand the English national curriculum for primary-aged pupils. It'll cover expectations as children progress through school and help for parents to explain and support children with things like noun phrases, adverbials and inverted commas!
It is also an opportunity to share some time (and experiences) with other parents of pupils the same age as your own children.
The final 20 minutes of each session include opportunities to work alongside your child(ren) to put that session's learning into practice
The course will be led by Janette King from Cumbria Adult Learning and is FREE.
Attending the course may also make you eligible for a free family activity day in the Lake District.
Children in years Reception and up can attend our After-School Club, also free of charge during sessions. On Mondays this means that they can join the gymnastics sessions.
Babes-in-arms (and pushchairs) are welcome to join parents in the sessions.
