2022 Cheyenne Frontier Days Mounted Group Application
Howdy!

It is my pleasure to extend to your mounted riding group an invitation to participate in the 126th Annual Cheyenne Frontier Days™ celebration, July 22-31, 2022. The parades start at 9 a.m.

Enclosed is an application for entry into the four parades.  All applications must be returned no later than June 15, 2022.  However, it would be appreciated if you would complete the application form as soon as possible.

Tom Houghton is the committee assistant responsible for mounted groups. He is available to help you arrange for your entry into the parade.  If you have any questions, please contact him mounted.groups@cfdrodeo.com.

Horse stalls will be available at the Cheyenne Saddle Tramp's Clubhouse grounds for a fee. The clubhouse grounds are located approximately two miles from the rodeo grounds. A map will be provided to you once we receive your application.  For a fee, there is space for overnight camping at the grounds if you have self-contained units.

Mounted groups are judged while traveling along the parade route. The Frontier Days Committee will award a commemorative plaque to the outstanding riding group based on the recommendation of judges who will be watching during the parade.

A great celebration in the tradition of the Old West and Cheyenne Frontier Days is planned. I hope you will join us!

PARADE INFORMATION AND RULES:
1. Application Due Date  

All applicants for entry are subject to approval and acceptance by the Parade Committee.  For applications to be considered, they must be completed and received by June 15, 2022.

2. Certificate of Insurance and Waiver

Before an applicant can be accepted for entry in the parade, a certificate of insurance and a signed waiver must be provided to Cheyenne Frontier Days. The certificate must include Cheyenne Frontier Days, Inc. and the City of Cheyenne as additional insured’s.

3. Parade Theme

All parade entries must be WESTERN AND HISTORICAL OR RELATED TO RODEO OR CHEYENNE FRONTIER DAYS.   All riders are required to wear appropriate attire which includes hats, long sleeve shirts, and western boots for men and appropriate western or historical apparel for women.

4. Sign Limits

Signs, serapes and unit banners may show the name of the group and/or the rider's name, title, and be worded "presented by" a sponsor.  Signs may not exceed "18 X 60."  There are certain national companies whose trademarks are an integral part of the entry.  These will be allowed at the discretion of the committee.  Please provide information about the sign you intend to carry.  The parade may not be used to further any cause, no matter how worthy, whether it is social, religious, political, or commercial.  Determination of the acceptability of any entry is at the discretion of the committee.

5. Group Description Information

Please enclose a description or history of your group, your group leader and members in about 50 words or less to be used by the parade announcers. (Please email to me)

6. It is prohibited to throw or give anything to spectators during the parade, or to do anything that endangers spectators.

7. NO LOSS OF FORWARD MOTION DURING THE PARADE ROUTE.

8. Single Riders are not permitted in the parade.

9. No one is allowed in the parade without approval.
