Puppy Raising Application Form

Early Alert Canines (EAC) greatly values the volunteers who participate in puppy raising to help train future service dogs. These compassionate individuals open their hearts and homes to provide a safe and loving environment for our young puppies. They receive comprehensive support and training from the EAC team, attending classes, public outings, and learning basic service dog obedience.

By becoming a puppy raiser, you will have the opportunity to make a tremendous impact by raising a life-saving partner. To become a puppy raiser, you will be required to open your home to a puppy between the ages of 8 weeks and 18 months.

You will need to attend weekly training sessions at EAC, monthly public outings (in-person only), provide food and other supplies according to EAC guidelines, and dedicate time to train the puppy in basic obedience skills. You will also need to monitor the puppy during the day. The time commitment ranges between 4 and 18 months and EAC works around your schedule, allowing you to take breaks and vacations while someone else cares for the dog.

Please note that applicants under the age of 18 will require a parent or legal guardian to fill out the application.
