Anonymous Kubernetes Engineer / Operator Compensation Survey
Hello! There is always room for improvement. If you have any suggestions, you can tweet to @theAmyCode with suggestions publicly or privately reach me on the kubernetes slack channel with "@Amy Chen". I apologize ahead of time if I have mischaracterized the options for the demographic section. I tried my best to keep the answers open ended where it made sense. If there's questions you think I should add, please do just reach out.

The motivation for this survey is to better understand total compensation and empower Kubernetes organizations & enthusiasts with information in their next salary discussions 🎉

Please pass this around to your peers!

What is your company's size? *
What is your base salary? *
Please round to the nearest 1000.
What is your TOTAL yearly compensation including base salary + equity + bonus potential? *
This is really important. Please do the work to divide up your equity into yearly compensation and add it to your base salary and bonus. For instance, if I have $100 of equity and a 4 year vesting schedule, my yearly equity would be $100 / 4 = $25. If I have a bonus potential of 12% yearly, multiple 0.12 by base salary. Do your best to be accurate.
What currency? *
What is your job title? *
Do you use Kubernetes as an end user? *
You are considered a Kubernetes end user if you work at a company that uses "cloud native technologies internally, but do not sell any cloud native services externally" (CNCF End User Definition)
[OPTIONAL] What is your company's name?
NOTE: This will only be used in GRAPHICS if there's enough entries to ensure anonymity and a sufficient sample size. I personally think this entry is important, but also respect your apprehension in offering this data.
