- 2021: Atlanta’s default speed limit was lowered to 25 mph and signage was replaced across the city. The 25 mph speed limit is now enforced on nearly 75% of Atlanta’s streets. We are implementing engineering solutions to reinforce those signs so that our streets are safer by design.
- 2022: The Atlanta Vision Zero Action Plan was launched in October 2022. This plan is informed by community experiences of traffic violence on our streets and new analysis of the High-Injury Network to guide us in ending traffic deaths and serious injuries on our streets.
- Overall, we are committed to taking every opportunity to make Atlanta’s Streets safer for all users.
But we cannot do this alone - Individual roadway behaviors must change. Everyone must see our streets as people movers, not just car movers. We all want to arrive at our destinations alive.
Do your part in making Vision Zero a reality. Take the pledge today and commit to driving safely at all times. Your actions here will help us take an important step towards eliminating fatalities and severe injuries in Atlanta.
When you take this pledge, don’t just click the button — please take it to heart and share with others. Drive slower. Be alert. Remember that when you #Drive25 you #SaveLives!
