BCPS Storm Assistance Survey 2025
Recent severe weather in Bullitt County has caused damage to property and homes. If your family has been displaced from your home because of flooding, damage to property or inability to remain in your residence due to flood water, fallen trees, or loss of power, your student may qualify for rights and services under the McKinney-Vento Act.

Even if you have not been displaced from your home, you may be able to receive basic need assistance (food, clothing, etc.) from your school's Family Resource or Youth Services Center.

Please complete the below survey to apply for storm assistance.

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, your children have educational rights under federal law (the McKinney-Vento Act):
  • The right to stay in the school where the student was previously attending and receive transportation to and from that school.

  • the right to immediately enroll in the local attendance area school if the student is unable to continue in their original school.

  • Schools have Title I, Part A funds that can provide support with food, clothing, and other basic needs.

  • Children and youth can access free school meals without needing to complete income verification documents.

If you have NOT lost housing, but still need help with basic need assistance (food, clothing etc.) due to property damage caused by the recent severe weather, you can receive help from your schools Family Resource or Youth Service Centers.
