This letter from the Southerners for Medicaid Expansion coalition will go to every U.S. Democratic Senator asking them to support the House Energy and Commerce Committee policy to provide a permanent & comprehensive fix to America’s coverage gap. This is the only health care policy in the Build Back Better Act that directs resources specifically to low-income Americans, 60% of whom are people of color, who have no other pathway to coverage. That is why we are asking health equity advocates from across the nation - in expansion and non-expansion states alike - to join our message.
