SGAD MN - Plant for the Future with Mississippi Park Connection

Surly Gives a Damn is teaming up with Mississippi Park Connection, HandsOn TC and the Points of Light Conference for a massive 300-person volunteer event. This mighty group will be removing invasive plants along the Mississippi River. SGAD will be bringing 30 folks to represent.

The Points of Light Conference is the world’s largest service-related convening, bringing together 2,000 nonprofit, government, business and civic leaders to gain and share the knowledge, resources and connections needed to galvanize the power of people to create change.

This event, hosted in partnership by Target, General Mills, Xcel Energy, Surly Gives a Damn, Mississippi Park Connection and HandsOn Twin Cities, will bring together volunteers that represent our local community as well as 100 volunteers from around the world! We’re excited for this unique opportunity to bring these groups together and give back to our community.

We will be heading back to the Surly for a little party from 3:00-6:00pm to raise a toast to all our hard work. Each volunteer will receive a commemorative t-shirt, two free beers, some delicious food, and other swag items. Come be part of the fun.

When: Monday, June 17 from 1:00-3:00pm, with a free Surly beer to follow

Where: Riverfront Regional Park, 4800 E River Rd, Fridley, MN 55421, USA

Someone will get back to you within 48 hours to let you know if you have a volunteer spot or not. If you do not hear from anyone, check your junk mail.
