Robson Square Summer Dance Series welcomes everyone to free dancing, lessons and shows on Friday nights under the domes at Robson and Howe. This summer we are running the following 9 Friday nights.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 2023 Robson Square Summer Dance Series! Robson has been running since 1979 with the support from volunteers like you. Each night, snacks and a lite dinner will be provided.

Robson Square - Ice Rink (there is no ice during the summer)

Volunteer Positions

Bag Check / Concession 7:00-8:45 & 8:45-9:45 & 9:45-10:45
Volunteers will operate the bag check and beverage concession. This includes handling and storing guests’ bags, collecting money, providing bottled beverages, organising items that visitors leave with us, and returning the bags to visitors when they leave. Often there will be 2 or 3 Bag Check / Concession volunteers, and it is possible to go out for a dance or a break during the shift. Please consider volunteering for the 9:45-10:45 shift.

Donation Assistant 8:20 & 9:20
Volunteers will check-in at 8:20 & 9:20 with our Money Manager and will be provided with a route to receive the donations from the guests during the performance breaks at 8:40 & 9:40. The Donation Assistants do not have to directly ask people for donations, the MC will make an announcement.

Set Up 6:15-7:15 & Take Down 10:30-11
Volunteers are needed to help move supplies from a nearby storage room and to set up equipment needed for the event. This includes posting signs, putting up tents, displaying programmes, setting up the bag check and drink concession area, and setting up music equipment.

After submitting your shift availabilities, all shifts will be confirmed by individual email. If you need to make any changes, you can update this volunteer form, or email using the email address below.

I hereby acknowledge that I understand and agree that the producer of the Robson Square Summer Dance Series 2023, "Robson", namely DanceSport BC, a society incorporated and subsisting under the BC Societies Act, and its Directors, committee members and other volunteers (collectively, the “Robson Square Summer Dance Series”), along with their respective agents, representatives and assigns, will not, in any circumstances whatsoever, be responsible for any loss, injury, cost or damage suffered or incurred by me, or for any liability to which I may become subject, as a result of volunteering for or participating as a volunteer at Robson.

I confirm that I am in good health and good physical condition, and am physically capable of serving as a volunteer at Robson, and I understand that serving as a volunteer at Robson could in some circumstances, result in physical injury.

By signing this waiver I release DanceSport BC and its respective agents, representatives, successors and assigns from all actions, claims or demands by me in connection with Robson or my participation as a volunteer at Robson, including any claims in respect of injury suffered by me or any loss or damage to my personal property. I also confirm that I understand this waiver and agree to be bound by it and am fully able and capable of volunteering to assist at Robson.

I also give my permission for the free use of my name and picture in broadcast, telecast or written account of Robson.
