Speak at the 2024 Budget Committee on January 22 or 23!
City Council and the Mayor will be voting on the 2024 City Budget on February 14. On Monday, January 22 and Tuesday, January 23 the Budget Committee will be hearing from the public on the budget we want.

Speaking at a committee is also known as making a deputation. Deputations are an opportunity for you to tell locally elected politicians your opinions and experiences on issues they will be voting on.  We will assist you in signing up to speak and help you create and present an impactful deputation. Here are some online opportunities to further support your deputation:

Sunday, January 21 at 12pm - Deputation Prep Session
 
Speaking means making a 3-5 minute online or in-person speech to the councillors on the Budget Committee. The deputations are an impactful way to influence the Mayor to be bold in her proposed budget and for Councillors to support these bold investments when they vote on February 14. 
Deputation spots are filling up. Register to speak ASAP by emailing buc@toronto.ca the date you'd like to speak. You should register to speak by 4:30 p.m. on January 19.
