Welcome to TAASC's Handwriting Skills Programs Registration

Our Handwriting Skills groups are run by occupational therapists and designed to support children across various age groups in enhancing their writing abilities. We focus on developing the fine motor skills necessary for clear and consistent handwriting, which is crucial for educational success. Our approach is tailored to meet the developmental stage and specific needs of each child, ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment to foster improvement.

Children are grouped according to their age as well as their current handwriting proficiency. Each group is structured to address the foundational elements of writing, from grasping a pencil to forming letters and improving hand-eye coordination. Our sessions are interactive, engaging, and use a multisensory approach to make learning fun and effective.

The skills targeted during the sessions are divided as follows:

Pre-Writing Fun (Ages 4-5): Activities are centered around multisensory stimulation, fine motor skills development, and pre-writing shapes, preparing the child for the next stages of writing.

Introducing Handwriting (Ages 4-5+): Focusing on precision and letter formation, this group aims to solidify the basics of writing, ensuring children are ready to move forward with confidence.

Printing Mastery (Ages 5-7): At this stage, children refine their printing skills, focusing on posture, alignment, and spacing to develop a more mature handwriting style.

Advanced Printing+ (Ages 7-8+): Geared towards older children, this group works on refining existing skills, organizing written content, and preparing for more advanced writing tasks.

A screening assessment will be carried out by an occupational therapist to determine which group would be most relevant and to understand the individual needs of your child. Children are matched according to their level/age. Once all registration forms are processed, If you don't find a suitable group, we will inform you about other options/group sessions within TAASC that your child may benefit from
