We are excited to announce that the annual Moot Court competition will take place on May 11, 2024. The case we will be trying is one currently under review by the Supreme Court: City of Grants Pass, Oregon v. Gloria Johnson, et al. This case centers around the Cruel and Unusual Punishment Clause of the 8th Amendment.

All high school students are welcome to compete in teams composed of two or three individuals. Each team will represent one side, either petitioners or respondents, in one hearing on May 11th. Teams will receive the time for their hearing upon registration.

In addition to the in-person hearing with oral arguments, there is an optional written brief competition as well. Teams that are interested in participating in this portion of the competition will write and submit a written brief detailing their arguments.
