Senate Faculty Strike Picket Shift Sign-Up
If UC lecturers conduct a strike over UCOP's Unfair Labor Practices, picket lines will be essential to the visibility and success of the action. Senate faculty presence on the picket line not only demonstrates unity among UC faculty in demanding that UCOP bargain with lecturers in good faith; it also provides support and protection for precarious faculty who could be vulnerable to surveillance and retaliation. While lecturers are glad for all expressions and acts of solidarity, please note that simply joining the picket line is not equated with respecting the picket line. Respecting the picket line means withholding your labor (no teaching, no office hours, no grading, etc.) and not coming to campus EXCEPT to join the picket line. Please sign up for as many shifts as you can. Responses will be accessible to UC-AFT and CUCFA leaders for coordination and follow-up. Lecturers throughout the UC system and contingent faculty across the nation thank you for your solidarity!

Picket lines will generally be in effect on all campuses from 10 AM to 5 PM. Some campuses may have variations and start or end a bit earlier or later.
When can you be present on the picket line? Choose the windows that your availability falls into. (For example, if you can join from 10 AM to 1 PM, choose 10 AM to 3 PM.) Most campuses will have mid-day rallies around noon where your participation will be most important. *
