FAC DST Jabberwock Contestant/Escort Scholarship
APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 11:59 PM MAY 1, 2024 

The Jabberwock Scholastic Scholarship will be awarded to a Jabberwock contestant and student escort in the amount of $1000.00 each to be used within one year of receipt.

All funds will be sent directly to the college or university of the student's choice upon requesting it from Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

PURPOSE OF SCHOLARSHIP
To provide a biennial scholarship to one well-deserving Jabberwock contestant and student escort member/student of $1000.00 each.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for the Jabberwock Scholarship, submit this application by 11:59 pm May 1, 2024.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Must be a Jabberwock contestant or escort for the current Jabberwock Scholarship Pageant
  • Must be a full-time high school junior or senior student
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (unweighted)
  • Demonstrate strong leadership at school via extracurricular activities to include athletics
A letter of recommendation from an academic school official is needed to support your leadership abilities (examples of people who can write a letter are teacher, guidance counselor, club sponsor, coach, or administrator)
  • Community service involvement/community service activities
A letter of recommendation is needed to verify community involvement/service
  • Essay (250 words) - "Identify a need/problem in your community and create a long-term solution to the problem."
Letters of Recommendation
  • Must be on school and organization letterhead (one from academic & one from community)
  • Must include the name, signature and contact information of the person providing the letter
  • Letters must be sent to FACDSTScholarship@gmail.com (Subject: Applicant Name - Jabberwock Educational Scholarship)
  • Letters received after 11:59 pm May 1, 2024 will result in application being incomplete/ineligible
