Beyond Veiled Destinies Early Reader Application
Please read this section in full before applying. This is an application to receive a digital ARC copy of HE. Bauman's upcoming fantasy novel, Beyond Veiled Destinies. This is the fourth book in the Darkened Skies series, which must be read in order.

It is required that you have read Books 1-3 before you read Beyond Veiled Destinies. You are welcome to fill out this application even if you aren't caught up yet! 

Due to my enrollment in Kindle Unlimited (KU), I am unable to give out ARCs of earlier books in the series. KU is the best place to catch up. Thank you for your understanding!

Important Numbers & Info for Beyond Veiled Destinies

Dates:
  • May 5: ARC applications close
  • May 8-11: ARCs sent out to readers
  • June 24: Beyond Veiled Destinies release day (and ideally your review will be posted by this day 👍)
  • July 31: Deadline to review & automatically receive the next eARC in the series
Re: the "deadline": If you need more time, just reach out! I know life happens and do not hold that against any reader! I only set a deadline like this to help me with launch analyses and back-end team management.

  • Estimated Kindle page count: 638
  • Spice level: 2-3 peppers (several open door scenes, descriptive but not overly graphic; one scene includes some consensual sensory deprivation)
Content warnings:
  • Fantasy and magical violence, including with magic and weaponry like guns, explosives, knives, etc., and this violence is committed against both military and civilian targets
  • On screen and implied character deaths
  • Nightmares, stalking, and threats against FMC's life
  • Some description of blood and injuries
  • Panic attacks and anxiety; PTSD symptoms related to past physical & psychological torture
  • References to parental death, current war, historical wars, rebellion, and murder
  • Mentions of sexual assault (not depicted, hypothetical context only)

What's the ARC team?

ARC readers will receive an advance electronic copy of Beyond Veiled Destinies to read and ideally review before launch day on June 24. 

While reviews are not required, they are appreciated and help indie authors like me reach more readers!

Active ARC team members, as in those who read and review the book(s) within the allotted 3.5-month window, will automatically be eligible for the next eARC in the series. Team members who review after that date are always welcome to re-apply, and delayed reviews aren't held against you! We know life happens. :)

What's the street team?

Like the ARC team, street team members receive an advance electronic copy of Beyond Veiled Destinies to read and ideally review before launch day on June 24.

On top of that, they are basically the author's hype team! You'll be added to a group IG chat, and you have the option of joining Discord as well. Street team members create occasional content about the Darkened Skies series to share on social media and continue to spread the word about the series even after launches are complete. This helps keep the series in front of new readers. 

What else do you need to know?
  • You'll need to provide your email address to receive your eARC; you will also receive occasional emails from me related to this ARC and future ones.
  • I'll send you a handful of reminders about posting your review between May and July, but I won't harass you about it. Reviews are always appreciated but are in no way required. 
  • You don't need a large following to receive an eARC! I'm just looking for enthusiastic readers who are enjoying this series and want to continue exploring this world.

If you have not read the Darkened Skies series, or if you aren't caught up, you'll need to catch up in KU, purchase copies, or borrow them from a friend. 

Unfortunately, I cannot give out ARCs of already-published books that are in KU; Amazon will remove my account if I do this and I will no longer be able to sell my books.

So, you will not receive an eARC of any books already published, and you will only receive an ARC of Beyond Veiled Destinies.

You will also need to catch up by June 24, which may mean prioritizing the series on your TBR.
