Summit Officer Application

Istanbul&I is looking for TWO Summit Officers to help us manage our annual large scale summits – conferences where young people have a chance to meet with mentors from a field and work to create social impact projects. The aim of the summits is to provide youth with the basic tools to grow their social impact idea into a project. We want our participants to come from diverse backgrounds and communities (students, young professionals, volunteers, with or without education and experience, etc).

Hours: 2-3 hours/week (more when closer to the summit)

Tasks:
- Plan the logistics and content for the summit
- Recruiting people to participate in the events
- Researching and deciding on the technology to use for the summit (in case it's online)
- Networking and reaching out to potential collaborators (both as venues, speakers and as participants)
- Talking to our volunteers and community members to have an understanding of what they would pay for

Skills and Qualifications:
- Has knowledge and experience in summit/conference planning
- Enjoys event planning and management
- Conversational, socially comfortable, and able to deal with a big group of people
- Creative and able to come up with new, novel ideas for events
- Takes initiative and seeks opportunities to integrate ideas with other projects in Istanbul&I
- Enjoys public speaking, facilitating, and having an external/public presence
- Is comfortable guiding and managing a potential crisis or problem
- Has strong networking skills and is eager to expand the community
