Each ECLP subcommittee will have at least 2 active advisors. Graduate students and post-docs are not eligible to serve as ECLP advisors.

The ECLP advisor position entails:

- 2 year appointment
- Attending monthly committee meeting (1 hour per month)
- Providing guidance and advice on ECLP projects (1 hour per month)
- Providing one-on-one feedback to co-chairs (2 hours every 6 months)
- Working with subcommittee co-chairs to develop a feedback rubric for ECLP members

Steering Committee: The Steering Committee is composed of the co-chairs of each subcommittee. They meet with the GSA Executive Director and members of the Board of Directors to discuss the direction of the Early Career Leadership Program, as well as share resources and establish collaborative projects between the subcommittees. The Steering Committee provides guidance to the ECLP subcommittees and facilitates projects, events, and proposals. https://bit.ly/31CBNqI

Communication and Outreach Subcommittee: The Communication and Outreach Subcommittee provides a collaborative and inclusive environment to work with early career scientists in developing their science communication skills through science writing for the general public, workshops, and other initiatives. https://bit.ly/3hQyrGl

Community and Member Engagement Subcommittee: The Community and Member Engagement Subcommittee provides a venue for members of the other subcommittees as well as Early Career Scientists in the GSA to connect with each other through online seminars, such as Science in a Snapshot and virtual networking events. https://bit.ly/3joS0pi

Career Development Subcommittee: The Career Development Subcommittee supports early career scientists who are navigating their career trajectories by organizing career development workshops and writing Decoding Life articles to shed light on the career options available to scientists in the field of genetics. https://bit.ly/2D82TfT

Policy and Advocacy Subcommittee: The Policy and Advocacy Subcommittee aims to provide an interdisciplinary opportunity for early career scientists interested in developing their skills in science policy and advocacy through workshops, career informational interviews, and networking events. https://bit.ly/2YJGZab

Multimedia Subcommittee: The newly established Multimedia Subcommittee will focus on developing skills related to technological formats. The initial project will be producing a new Genetics Society of America podcast called Genetics In Your World which will highlight GSA Journal articles. https://bit.ly/3vr8Lqf
