Thank you for your interest in this event.

First, the really important stuff.

What is BTCC and what is this event?

BattleTech Championship Circuit is a new set of rules for tournament play of both Classic BattleTech and Alpha Strike.  These are a brand new set of BattleTech Tournament rules being developed by the Catalyst Demo Team, to be used at primer events such as the Las Vegas Open and Atlantic City open.  In 2022, the first Classic BattleTech BTCC events were ran, and the team is hoping to run Alpha Strike BTCC events in 2023.  However, before the team runs AS BTCC at events such as ACO and LVO, they feel running something on a smaller and perhaps somewhat less competitive level would be a good idea.  While the BTCC system and rules were built by folks who have created similar systems for other games, and who have many years running tournaments across any number of different systems, there's always someone trying to outsmart them. So, I agreed to run an event here in Indy.

To that end and before the event, I do encourage you to attempt to try and break the rules, particularly the force building rules.  If you find something that appears to be game breaking, I encourage you to reach out to me via one of the methods listed below.  I am NOT encouraging you to bring these potentially game breaking things to the event.

The Atmosphere I'm trying to create for this event is light-hearted, good natured competitiveness.  It is not a 'Serious-business' tournament with great prizes and such.  Its a chance to play against the folks you've played next to and against for the past few years in a new kind of event.  I will say, though, if we get big enough (20 people?) we'll try for some prizes, but we're not sure what we'll be able to swing.  There is a max size of 30 people for this event.

I hope you join us, I hope you have fun, and I hope you learn a thing or two about Alpha Strike along the way (I sure have, those force building rules are definitely not what I thought they were.)

If you have any questions, please reach out in one of the following ways:
Email: IndianaAlphaStrike@gmail.com

Indiana Alpha Strike Discord   Channel: #btcc-discussion

While you can ask questions in the FB event, the organizers are not checking that event regularly.  Email or Discord are suggested if you need a response from the organizers. (Sorry about that, but FB is poison for us, especially the new video feature.)

I agree to follow the rules and code of conduct as outlined in the Players Guide, linked here.

I am aware that the force building rules for this event are almost entirely the Rules As Written force building rules, AS:CE page 110, steps 1-6, as noted in the force building section of the Players Guide.  I am aware that these are not the same rules used in other formats and that I should pay careful attention to them to ensure that I build a valid force.

I understand that if I do not get my force list to the Event Team by October 8th, the Event team may not have time to ensure that my force list is valid and that having an invalid force is a reason to not allow me to play or to be disqualified from the event.
The preferred force list form is available here
A non-digital version is available here.
