Roseburg High School’s yearbook staff is responsible for planning from cover to cover a record of the school year in a thoughtful, memorable, and picturesque manner. We document student life, academics, athletics, clubs, the people, and the spirit of Roseburg High School. It is not easy. Publishing a book requires you to be deadline and detail-oriented, fast-paced, and hard-working. The process can also be fun, rewarding, and a real-world learning experience. You’ll gain design, photography, writing, communication, and leadership skills. It’s a great way to be involved in your school community and form bonds with your yearbook team. Our yearbook students move on to be successful in college, earn scholarships, and take up careers using skills they learned being a part of the staff.
The yearbook is a significant time commitment. We photograph more than a hundred after-school events throughout each school year. If Roseburg High School students are there, so are we.
You need not have your own camera, just the willingness to learn how to use and care for one.
To apply to be a part of the yearbook team, please complete the application and obtain references from at least two teachers (one should be from a current or past English or Journalism teacher.) Please complete the application by April 29th.
We are looking for:
team players, a willingness to attend events after school, staff who will work as needed to meet all deadlines (even outside of regular class hours), strong writing skills, a willingness to learn new skills in photography, graphic design, and writing, and staffers who will make the yearbook a top priority.
