3 PM until dusk on Monday, October 10, Tuesday, October 11, or Wednesday, October 12, build your scarecrow and bring it out, or build it on-site with materials you provide (family-friendly entries, please).
Scarecrows will be subject to the weather for three weeks, so ensure everything is secure and constructed with weather-resistant materials.
Builders are responsible for transporting, setting up, and removing scarecrows and props to and from The Farm. The Farm is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
We will have a post for your scarecrow to go on, or you may sit your' scarecrow anywhere you choose on the Farm. We have some straw and a box of leftovers from previous years. Feel free to use them. First come, first serve ( family-friendly entries, please).
Scarecrows will be judged by SUMA, Southern Museum of Art. Winners will be announced on October 15 at Crows and Donuts on The Farm and social media. Prizes will be available for pickup on October 15.
1st place $150 Cash.
2nd place $75 value in gift certificates and/or items from local businesses.
3rd place $50 value in gift certificates and/or items from local businesses.
Businesses, nonprofits, or Groups may unabashedly advertise and will be judged in a separate category. The business, nonprofit, or group that wins will receive a basket of goodness from the Farm for everyone to share.
Please come pick up your scarecrow on Tuesday, November 1, NOT before October 31.
It is free to see the scarecrows, dawn to dusk, October 15th thru October 31st.
