Recommend an Officer- The New Blue Fellowship
New Blue is on a mission to create 100 equity-minded decision-makers within the law enforcement system by 2025. The New Blue Fellowship is designed to find, connect, and develop our nation's next generation of law enforcement leaders who will go on to reimagine the system as a whole.

We select our fellows from agencies that value community-oriented policing practices. Successful applicants have gone above and beyond the traditional expectations of police by initiating community-oriented tactics, supporting community programs, and fostering community trust through relationship building. We look for fellows whose identities represent the communities they serve. They have context and clarity into systemic injustices and have a deep-rooted desire to produce innovative solutions. To that end, this application is designed to find:

1) Current police officers who are early in their careers
2) Officers working for agencies that demonstrate our Core Values
3) Officers who are eligible for promotion within 2 years
4) Officers who have a deep understanding of community context
5) Officers who have demonstrated a desire to reimagine law enforcement
6) Officers whose identities and/or experiences are representative of the community they serve
7) Officers who are dedicated to the pursuit of equity and racial justice
8) Officers who have a desire to co-produce solutions with their community

The fellowship starts with a paid trip to the UK to study police leadership and then takes a year-long virtual lecture setting where Fellows receive coaching and professional development. After completing the program, Fellows are awarded a $5K stipend that they can use toward additional professional development or educational expenses.
