Seattle Postgres Users Group (SEAPUG)

We're exploring a collaboration in fall 2023 with the computer science department of a local university. As one part of this, we're reaching out to our network of tech professionals in Seattle with these two questions.

(We don't need commitments just yet; right now we're looking for interest.)

Architecture Lightning Talks

We will invite undergraduate and graduate computer science students to join us for a meetup, where several people do back-to-back architecture lightning talks.

With a white board and 5-10 minutes, describe the architecture of a system you have worked on in the past. Mobile app? Web server? Middle tier? Database? Job scheduler? Reporting? Backups? What does each components do and how does it communicate? How is this system used and what is it's purpose? Describe whatever you know (you don't need to know everything).

Tech Career Stories

We will invite undergraduate and graduate computer science students to join us for a meetup, where a couple people do back-to-back tech career stories.

You can share directly, or we can do interview style. Answer three simple questions. What do you do? What do you love about it? Tell a little of the story of how you ended up where you are today?
