Elected Leaders Council Interest Form

Applications open August 1, 2023 and sessions begin on September 20, 2023.

The Center for Policing Equity (CPE) is a is a racial justice non-profit that empowers advocates, community groups, service providers, and municipal officials nationwide to redesign their public safety systems.

Launched in partnership with The Council for State Governments (CSG) Justice Center, CPE's Elected Leaders Council is a peer-to-peer learning community for elected officials and staff members nationwide seeking to learn, collaborate, and implement new approaches to public safety, including Alternatives to Traffic Enforcement, Data Transparency, and Police Accountability.

The Elected Leaders Council brings together state and local elected officials nationwide and helps participants work collaboratively to develop strategies to enact and sustain reforms, fund initiatives, and receive support, including help identifying validators to help support initiatives in their communities. The alternative policing strategies developed by the Elected Leaders Council parallel the community-led efforts emerging from CPE and CSG Justice Center’s Learning Communities for Policing Alternatives.
