Join Wild Arizona for a weekend of trail clearing in the Miller Peak Wilderness!
Dates: November 12-13, 2022 (Saturday-Sunday) 8:30-3:30 each day
Volunteer Project Description: As part of our Wilderness Stewardship (Wild Stew) program, we will be hosting two consecutive days of trail maintenance on the Hunter Spring Trail in the Miller Peak Wilderness, located just outside of Sierra Vista, AZ. Both days we will focus on clearing brush off of the trail. This is an introductory-level trail work event, and no experience is necessary. We will be hiking up to 2 miles per day along a moderately strenuous trail as we work. Join us for either or both days.

- We will meet each morning at 8:30 AM at the trailhead located at the end of E Hunter Canyon Road #367.

Gear, Tools, PPE:
- All necessary trail tools along with training will be provided by Wild Arizona
- Hard hats and gloves provided
- Bring your own: long-sleeve shirt, long pants, sunglasses/safety glasses, and closed toe shoes, (gloves, if you have them)
What to Bring:
- Day bag/backpack
- Water bottles (3 liters minimum per day)
- Food: breakfast, lunch, snacks

- Rain jacket and extra layers
- Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat
More About the Area:
Miller Peak Wilderness sits just outside of Sierra Vista, looming over the town with steep peaks and jagged ridge lines. The eastern boundary of the wilderness is characterized by cliff-sides and steep terrain, cut by deep wooded valleys full of lush vegetation and perennial creeks. Hunter Spring Trail accesses Hunter Spring, the headwaters of a small canyon on the eastern portion of the Miller Peak Wilderness.
