Student Contract
Summer School is a concentrated 23 days of instruction and learning, which requires that our teachers teach, review, and summarize curriculum that was originally covered in an entire school year. Regular attendance/participation is a crucial component of success in summer school and cannot be emphasized enough.

Attendance/Participation
To be eligible for credit for your classes, you must attend the 60 minutes zoom a minimum of 19 of the 23 days.

Students will be allowed four absences from each class. Therefore, these absences should be used sparingly.
Attendance for the class is taken during the daily 60 minutes synchronize zoom session. If you are not present for this session you will not get credit for attendance.


Expectations:
Students are expected to follow the below distance learning expectations:

Respectful
Listen and mute yourself while others are talking
Use kind words and gestures
Dress appropriately
No videotaping or taking pictures/screenshots of a classmate during zoom time

Outstanding:
Stick with it, even when there are challenges
Be patient with a technology issue
Ask for help and support via email, phone call, or online platform instructor is using

Academically-Focused
Find a quiet place with minimal distractions
Be an active participant by keeping comments on topic
E-mail or message your instructor when you need help or support

Responsible
Be on time and have materials ready
Make sure your device is charged or plugged in
Complete your work


 2.  The Administration of Wayne County Summer School enforces a zero-tolerance policy towards violence, drugs, and behavior deemed by the administration to interfere with safety or the educational process. Involvement in such behavior may result in removal from the program. Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner conducive to learning. Anyone observing or being victimized by any harassing acts (including bullying and/or discrimination) should report this information to a teacher, staff member, or summer school principal.
